I’m not sure where to begin with telling you about Grant’s Christmas party. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more! First I wanna thank Ashley and Jessica. These two ladies were amazing and such an instrumental part of this wish. Thank you for all of your help!!!!
When Grant arrived he wasn’t feeling super good. He had been to the ER the night before due to severe pain. But no matter how much he was in pain, he asked his mom several times if it was time for his party. He was a bit surprised when came in and saw @Santa. We were worried it may be overwhelming for him so we let Grant and his family spend some time with Santa before everyone else came into the clubhouse. He had been told Santa and Buddy were coming to his party but I’m not sure he really comprehended a real life Buddy and Santa would be at his party.
Grant loves Santa and he loves Buddy the Elf! Grant came to the party dressed in his Buddy attire. He also loves to watch The Elf movie anytime a television is around. So of course we had it playing on the TV at his party. Santa presented Grant with a super cute Elf hat that he had made back at the North Pole. He also gave him some super cute books, and other goodies. After spending a little private time with Santa, Buddy showed up. Of course once Buddy walked in and saw Santa he yelled “Santa…I know him!!’ Grant was so excited. These two hung out for well over an hour. Grant asked Santa to go home with him and he didn’t want Buddy to leave his side.
TN reindeer brought an extra special guest, her name is Hope. Hope is an 11 month old reindeer and everyone fell in love with her! I’m pretty sure I overheard Santa whispering to Hope about her possibly joining him at the North Pole one day. Hope and Grant hit it off really well. He loved petting her and kissing her and Hope seemed to love the attention from Grant too. Seeing him with Hope was a heartwarming sight.
This party was so cute and I’m thankful that Grant felt well enough to enjoy it. An unbelievable amount of people came together to create this magical party. A large group of amazing people worked together on decorating, Several students from Rossview Elementary made snowflakes. Kids from middle school made paper chain decorations and wrote sweet notes to Grant and his family on each chain. Friends brought us Christmas trees from their home for us to add to the “tree Forrest”. Other friends, neighbors, and a couple of our former wish moms also lent a helping hand with this special wish. One came all the way from Cleveland, TN to help. They brought delicious and super cute Elf/Christmas themed finger foods, cupcakes, and cookies. The kids had paper snowball fights, cookie decorating, and were able to pet Hope the reindeer and learn a few reindeer facts. I think everyone had a great time!
